Hi, I’m Amy. Ready for this? I am a mammographer by day, but believing more and more (thank you Mr. Goins) that “I am a writer”. I have always written for my own personal enjoyment, and made an attempt at a published work years ago. That fell through and I became a closet-writer once more. (Cue music, “I’m coming out….”.) In recent months, I have begun to write again with the goal of being published. The tribe I long to reach and build are those who feel they have traveled down a road where they can no longer be used by God. It is my heart to encourage them back to their God-given purpose.

I grew up in the South in Alabama, but have discovered I’m a bit of a city girl, in the Western Suburbs of Philadelphia. I have two children (ages 19 & 14), two step-sons (grown with kids of their own), and angels. I mean, grandkids! My husband is my biggest cheerleader and fan. For all of the above, I am very thankful.

I am still very intimidated at times, but learning to ignore the voices in my head that say I can’t do this. Jeff, thank you so very much for this course. I feel like it’s just what I need right now to focus in the way I need and desire to.

Hi fellow wordsmiths! I’m excited at the prospect of learning more about writing and marketing, too. I have the privilege of writing the Senior Focus column for Christian Week magazine, and do some freelancing as well. A long range goal is certifying with Editors’ Association of Canada. I live about 90 minutes’ drive from the 49th parallel, in sunny Manitoba.

Much of what I’ve learned has come through my participation with Manitoba Christian Writers’ Association. Most of my writing is biographical and devotional, but I have also done feature stories for newspapers. Writing for a house and design magazine for several years gave me good opportunity to do more interviewing, and to learn about trends in building supplies and design.

When I’m not reading or writing, I enjoy baking, hanging out with our seven grandchildren, a bit of photography, being out-of-doors, and some travel,. My husband and I just got home from a three-week trip to the Maritimes. Travelling by train is fun!

I look forward to getting started on this course.

    Hi everyone!

I’m Anne Peterson. I am a writer. I am also a poet, speaker and published author of a number of Bible Studies with Christianity Today, as well as a number of articles and devotions. I have also been blessed to have my poetry sold through the James Lawrence Company. So it is sold throughout the US and in a number of countries.

My husband, daughter and I moved to Peoria, Illinois, to be closer to my son’s family. We have two grandsons Jude and Charlie with a third on the way! My family is my inspiration.

I have to write, for me it’s like breathing. I am presently working on my first book, a non-fiction. New at building my platform, I know this course will really help me in so many ways.

    Hi Everyone,
I am Kathi Gowsell from Calgary, AB, Canada. My love of writing goes back to my teens but, even after various writing courses, I’ve had trouble committing.
Now that I am in the empty nest transition, I have dedicated my time to the writing life.
In the past I have journaled extensively, written short fiction and legacy pieces, and started a little blog called My Life After Kids. The blog stretched me to put something out in the world and gave me a sense of accountability toward my writing. Now I am excited about this course and taking my writing a step further.
Looking forward to working with all of you!

Hi, I’m Judith Gregory Hardy (legally), Judy Hardy (to you) and Judy Guion (the author).

I live in the northwest corner of Connecticut, have 4 daughters and 5 grandchildren.

My journey began eight years ago when I moved to California to care for my Mom after my Dad had passed away. I discovered 2 large boxes of letters, photos, memorabilia, 8mm and 16 mm films and even a recording made in 1943.

In 1939, my grandfather began writing a weekly letter to his two oldest sons who had been hired by an oil company to work in Venezuela. Soon, other sons left home, then we joined tWWII and my grandfather continued to send carbon copies of the letters to his five sons and 3 daughter-in-laws that joined the family, for seven and a half years. The boxes also contained my grandfathers autobiography. I had recorded the childhood memories of my father and his siblings and some of this material went into a Family Chronicles binder I put together for about 45 family members.

I knew I had to share this “Slice of Life” with others but didn’t know where to begin. I have transcribed a small portion of the material and have been given quite a bit of advice.

Two weeks ago I started a Blog and published an article in a new e-magazine, New Inceptions Magazine. I will be contributing each month. I’m using Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin and hope to begin using Youtube shortly.to build my tribe . I need all the advice I can get.

    Hello everyone!

I’m Melissa, but I like to go by Beelissa online. I’ve been online since before Al Gore invented the Internet. For many years I was a homeschooling mom — you may have seen one of my reviews in Practical Homeschooling Magazine if you happen to be a homeschooler. My student has graduated, and now I work part-time at my church and spend the rest of my time trying to figure out how to make money online. I’ve started a few websites, and actually launched one, but no one visits it and I need to find out how to find a Tribe. So that’s why I’m here.

Despite my boast about being online since the age of the dinosaurs, sometimes I’m clueless about stuff that seems like it should be obvious, and one of those is — how to add a profile picture on this forum. I looked on the “edit my profile” page but I didn’t see it. So I’m the blank head/face for now.
