Cranking out those blogposts is going to be the challenge, isn’t it? Might be a good idea to hold each other to account. I’m reckoning on two a week.
I’m hailing from the UK where my new blog is set up for a memoir of growing up in the 1950s/60s. I’m hoping it’s going to be a bit different to most accounts as my mother was a schizophrenic so all our lives were a bit off kilter.
If you’re interested, you can check out my latest post here:

I’m pretty pleased with having made 5 posts, gained 115 visits and more than 240 views, in less than two weeks. I’ll need to work hard to sustain and build though as I’m just finishing off a debut novel and begin a PhD in Creative Writing in 6 weeks.Adam - the link to your post seems to be broken (or is that because I’m in the UK?) and it might be better to put the full URL for the main blog hyperlink, as people are lazy (yep, that’s me) and might not cut and paste, or might get distracted before they complete that task.
Kris, here in the UK there’s a huge focus on child abuse at the moment - historical, especially and therefore an upsurge in people wanting to write about it. Fiction writers especially would be interested in a blog that helped them understand scenarios, causes, aftermaths etc. That might be a strong audience strand for you. I think another might be those who’ve suffered, being able to see similar stories might help people to know others understand what happened to them - I believe many feel isolated.
Anyway folks, well done on making a start, I’m hoping we’re going to enjoy an awesome journey together.

Hi everyone, I waving frantically from the south coast of the UK. Did you know there is no significant landmass between here and the US if you take a straight line across the Atlantic? That’s a lot of writing time, if someone else is rowing 😉
I’ve just completed an MA in Creative Writing and am finishing off my debut novel. I start a PhD in October. This will involve writing a second novel, informed by research into literary representations throughout history, in tandem with a blogged memoir. The memoir will go to print, at the end of the PhD, along with the academic treatise and the second novel. I’ve given up work in order to achieve this, despite the UK government moving my retirement age back 6 years but still keeping the age-restriction for student loans at five years younger than me. Boo! Still, writers don’t have time to eat or sleep, so I’m going to get gloriously skinny and won’t need a roof anyway, right?
Anyway, I’m here to build a platform, so when I’m not hollering from the top of it, I can always camp out underneath.
I think this journey’s going to be fantastic. So, let’s build those platforms high, hold hands and all jump from them together. Is everyone game?
And, if anyone would like to take a look at my memoir blog, it can be found at:

You’ll find quite a bit more about me there: just the early years, so far, oh and my writing credentials.
😀 AG
