We had a great call, talking about some of my biggest writing mistakes (and the lessons I learned from them).
We also took questions from the audience and talked about what it takes to build a powerful online platform that gets your writing the attention it deserves.
Enjoy the replay, and feel free to share!
Here were the four mistakes I identified:
- Not calling myself a writer sooner
- Thinking a platform was all about “me”
- Overlooking the importance of relationships
- Waiting for clarity instead of choosing to trust and take that first step
The lessons that I learned from were:
- Before you can do, you have to be. Activity always follows identity.
- Build a platform that serves other people and adds value. When you make it about other people, they will make it about you.
- Serve your way into influence. Offline relationship leads to online connection.
- Start now, not when you think you’re ready.
